World Mental Awareness Month
World Mental Awareness Month has been observed in May in the United States since 1949 and was started by Mental Health America. During the month of May, MHA, its affiliates, and other organizations interested in mental health conduct a number of activities which are based on a different theme each year. The purpose of Mental Health Awareness Month is to raise awareness and educate the public about: mental illnesses.
Meditation to stay connected
More people are turning to meditation apps to feel calm during the novel coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, the apps are a way to stay connected. This sense of connection and personal interaction meant that in March 2020, 750,000 people downloaded mindfulness and meditation apps. Here’s a first look at some of them: Free mindfulness apps. Some meditation apps: Meditation apps.
