What is Vein Therapy?
Sclerotherapy treats blood vessels or blood vessel malformations with an injected medicine. It may be used to treat spider veins, varicose veins, and venous malformations. The treated vein shrinks and dissolves over a period of weeks as the body naturally absorbs it. Recurrence of spider veins is less likely after this treatment.
The benefits of Vein Therapy
Varicose veins and spider veins may be unsightly, and treatment using a fluid mixed with anesthetic can result in almost imperceptible scarring after the local bruising and resorption are healed. The venous system returns blood to the heart. When veins have stretched or become flabby, the resulting backwash can cause swelling in ankles and legs. Cosmetically, vein therapy makes your legs look better; functionally, they restore your circulatory system to better health.
