Ultraviolet light

What do you Know About Ultraviolet Light?

Ultraviolet light is a wavelength of sunlight in a range too short for the eye to see. While sunlight splits into two wavelengths UVA & UVB, both types are damaging to the skin. Ultraviolet A (UVA) has a longer wavelength. As a result, it is associated with skin aging. Ultraviolet B (UVB) has a shorter wavelength. So it is associated with skin burning.

Sunscreen is your best friend and protects against Ultraviolet light!

Always include sunscreen in your daily skincare routine, because ultraviolet passes through windows and even sun umbrellas and clouds. So the first step is to put a barrier between you and the sunlight to take care of your skin. It’s our number one anti-aging tip! The American Cancer Society recommends wearing at least 30 SPF sun protection. Although higher SPFs mean more protection, they only give you a little more protection.

For example, SPF sunscreens of:

  • 15 filter out about 93% of UVB rays,
  • 30 filter out about 97%,
  • 50 about 98%,
  • 100 about 99%.

Can I reverse sun damage from ultraviolet light?

Dr. Nangrani treats the whole client, from the outside in. This includes vitamins and hormone therapies, but also aesthetic treatments. For instance, the CO2 laser promotes collagen regeneration. This treatment is the gold standard for treating sun damage like hyperpigmentation. Your skincare regimen may need to include corrective treatments.

What your skin needs!

Your skin is the largest organ in the body. Skin is three layers: epidermis, dermis, and subcutis. As we age, the outer layer or epidermis thins and looks paler.

Antioxidants can slow skin damage caused by unstable molecules known as free radicals. These molecules can harm skin cells and cause signs of aging. One of the best ways to get more antioxidants: eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. They contain beta-carotene and vitamins C, E, and A. As we age, we lose moisture faster, so drink plenty of water!

Hydrating the skin will help you look more youthful. Use a retinoid cream, vitamin sera, hyaluronic acid, and nourishing moisturizing creams.

What other services do we offer for your skincare regimen?

Aesthetics

  • Wrinkle Erasers help prevent future wrinkles and deepening of existing lines.
  • Botox prevents wrinkles between your eyebrows or on your forehead

These cosmetic injections stop nerve signals to the muscles that cause wrinkles. Although this keeps the muscle from contracting, the muscle recovers after several months. So, plan touch-up treatments every three or four months. It’s all about maintenance!

Fillers restore volume and fullness to the skin. With fillers, you can correct moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds. These include nasolabial folds or smile lines. Fillers can fill in acne scars. Several products can work as smile line fillers. Dermal fillers can also enhance your lips. For less discomfort, we can use a topical anesthetic and local injections. Dermal filler advantages

We offer JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel, and Bellafill® dermal fillers. We can also use your fat as a dermal filler. Here are several smile lines fillers.

Another resurfacing treatment is Venus Freeze. It heats collagen fibers with pulsed magnetic fields and radiofrequency. The effect is skin tightening, wrinkle reduction, and cellulite reduction. The heat stimulates a healing response. As a result, new collagen forms and your skin produces new elastin fibers.
