Recovery after Brazilian Butt Lift
Care after Brazilian butt lift is very serious, not difficult to care for, but essential to good healing and great results!
Compression garment
Wear your compression garment 24 hours a day for two weeks on your buttocks. This will reduce swelling and lower your chances of fluid build-up, such as hematomas and seromas. Swelling and bruising will continue for up to 6 weeks.
Avoid sitting down after Brazilian butt lift!
Avoid sitting down for at least 2 to 3 weeks. The fat transferred to your buttocks must be treated gently; it is prone to rupture, death (fat necrosis), or moving around (migration). If you absolutely must sit, make sure you are on an extremely soft cushioned pillow.
Keep your circulation healthy
Walk and stretch the legs to help increase circulation and decrease the risk of forming blood clots.[
What about fluid build-up?
If Dr. Nangrani feels you may be a risk for fluid build-up, she may give you drainage tubes. We will take these out the first week following the procedure.
Take your antibiotics
If you have been given a prescription for antibiotics as a precaution against infection, be sure you take the entire prescription.
If you see signs of infection
Call Vedas immediately if you see signs of infection like excessive redness and swelling. Call if you sense an unpleasant odor coming from the wound, swollen glands, increased pain, fever, or a hot sensation near the wound. These are less common but serious signs of infection.
If you had stitches
Come in to have your stitches removed after 7 to 10 days if you have stitches. The time will vary depending on the amount of fat removed and transferred.
