Dysport can smooth your between the eyebrows frown lines without minimizing your expressions. Those frown lines are a result of repeatedly tightening the underlying muscle. Your overlying skin has not been able to smooth out on its own, and as a result, your expression still seems to show your concern, anger, frustration, or whatever emotion caused you to frown in the first place.
Dysport improves frown lines in just 2-3 days
Reducing specific muscle activity by blocking impulses to contract the muscle, Dysport can improve the look of your frown lines for up to 4 months after a 10- to 20-minute treatment. If you can smooth your wrinkles by spreading them apart, Dysport might be right for you, injected into each of 5 points between and above your eyebrows. You won’t look frozen, just natural-looking; you control your look!
Dysport is a prescription injection for a temporary improvement
It’s not forever! Just as you need to reapply Botox, Xeomin, and Myobloc, you should plan to reapply Dysport periodically. The dose is not the same as the dose of those products, and cannot be compared to the dose of any other product. Tell the doctor if you have received any of these in the last four months, if you have recently received an antibiotic by injection, take muscle relaxants, take an allergy or cold medicine, or take a sleep medicine.
When should I refuse Dysport?
Dr. Nangrani will meet you in a complimentary consultation, and help to identify any reasons that would keep you from enjoying a Dysport frown removal! If you are allergic to any of the ingredients in Dysport, are allergic to cow’s milk protein, had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product (Myobloc, Botox, or Xeomin), or have a skin infection at the planned injection site, avoid Dysport.
Dysport might not be for you if you have had a surgical change to your face, have very weak frown muscles, if you have droopy eyelids or sagging eyelid folds, deep facial scars, or thick, oily skin, if the injection site is inflamed, or if your face looks very different side to side. The doctor can help you decide.
Toxin effects can spread
In some cases the effects of the toxin may affect areas away from the injection site hours to weeks after injection. If you notice swallowing and breathing problems, loss of strength and muscle weakness, double or blurred vision and drooping eyelids, hoarseness, trouble saying words clearly, or loss of bladder control, possible effects of any toxin, do not operate a car or do other dangerous activity and call the doctor immediately.
