Tattoo Removal The Woodlands
Have a tattoo that you don’t want anymore?
Vedas introduces their all-new, safe and painless treatment for tattoo removal. Our Ellman Multi-Platform Laser Platform is one of the latest technologies in tattoo and permanent makeup removal. This technology successfully targets the pigments of the tattoo ink without affecting the surrounding healthy skin.
We are able to customize each treatment based on the needs of our patients in order to ensure complete tattoo removal.
Tattoo removal has been performed since the start of tattooing. No matter the reason you want to remove your tattoos, physical methods like dermabrasion, acid, and scrubbing the skin with salt have become outmoded by laser tattoo removal, a non-invasive treatment.
Lasers and tattoo removal
Tattoos last a long time without breaking down naturally in part due to the large size of the ink particles, too big to be removed by normal human growth and healing processes. Lasers break down the ink particles in the tattoo, causing the immune system to “fight off the ink,” mimicking natural fading that time or sun exposure would create. Although darker blacks and blues may be readily removed, certain pigments, such as yellows and fluorescent inks, absorb light outside the emission spectra of the tattoo removal laser, and pastel colored inks contain high concentrations of titanium dioxide, which is highly reflective. Unless the ink can absorb the light emitted by the laser, it will not be broken down, and the tattoo will linger on!
The selective destruction of tattoo pigments depends on the color of the light penetrating deep into the skin to reach the tattoo pigment. The laser light must be more highly absorbed by the tattoo pigment than the surrounding skin, sometimes requiring different laser light colors. Although the laser must deliver sufficient energy to fragment the pigment, the laser bursts must be very short, so that the surrounding skin is not burned. Inflammation resulting from the actual laser treatment and the natural stimulation of the host’s immune response ultimately removes the tattoo ink.
How long will it take to remove a tattoo?
You must expect removal of a tattoo to require numerous treatment sessions, typically spaced at least seven weeks apart. Some ink particles will be fragmented at each session, but tattoos located on the ankles, wrists, hands generally take the longest to remove. Your immune response is also a key factor; if you have a compromised immune system, it will affect tattoo removal.
